WASFAA Training Committee offers a mix of Virtual Training Series programming and free member sessions throughout the year—built to keep you informed, connected, supported, and ready for what’s next.

Below you’ll find information about the 2026-2027 Virtual Training Series, upcoming sessions still in development, and additional free training and networking opportunities available to WASFAA members throughout the year.

2026-2027 Virtual Training Series 

WASFAA’s Virtual Training Series provides professional development opportunities throughout the year on timely topics affecting financial aid professionals. Sessions cover a variety of areas including federal updates, compliance, verification, operations, student support, leadership, and emerging issues in financial aid administration.

Registration Fees:

• Individual Member* - $50 for the full Virtual Training Series
• Institutional Member* - $100 for the full Virtual Training Series
• Individual Non-Member - $125 per webinar

Cancellation and Refund Policy for the Virtual Training Series

If you are requesting a 100% refund, your request by email must be received 24 hours before your first registered session. If you wait to cancel the day of the first registered session for you or anyone in your institutional roster, there is no refund. There are no partial refunds. Unpaid invoices 30 days prior to an event must be confirmed or registration will be canceled. Please send all cancellation notifications to training@wasfaa.org and cc treasurer@wasfaa.org.

Free Training for WASFAA Members

In addition to the paid Virtual Training Series, WASFAA offers free training and professional development opportunities throughout the year as a benefit of membership. These sessions are not part of the paid Virtual Training Series and do not require purchase of the Virtual Training Series.

More free sessions will be added throughout the year based on timely topics, member needs, and opportunities to learn from organizations and colleagues across the region.

Training Committee Presents: Whine/Wine/Wind Down Wednesdays 

This free, casual networking series is a chance for WASFAA members to connect, unwind, and talk with colleagues from across the region.

For our kickoff session, come meet the Training Committee, learn a little about what we have planned for the year, and most importantly, just hang out with your fellow financial aid professionals. Future Whine/Wine/Wind Down Wednesdays will feature different conversation topics, opportunities to share ideas and experiences, and maybe even a little good-natured commiseration with people who understand the wonderfully complicated world of financial aid.

Training Expectations

WASFAA is committed to providing a safe, productive, and harassment-free environment at its conferences, training sessions, board and committee meetings, and other WASFAA-sponsored events. WASFAA prohibits harassment or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, ethnicity, national origin, or other protected status. It also prohibits sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking (physical or virtual), or unsolicited physical contact; and threatening behavior.

These conduct rules apply to all attendees and participants at any WASFAA-sponsored event, including online events. These conduct rules apply to all presenters, attendees, and participants. Any violations should be reported immediately to a member of the WASFAA event staff or leadership team; we also expect participants to alert venue staff or security of any dangerous situations, or of anyone in distress.

WASFAA reserves the right to remove any individual from attendance or other participation in any WASFAA-sponsored event without prior warning or refund, and to take additional action as determined necessary, notifying appropriate individuals, including loss of WASFAA membership.
