The Washington transition retreat took place on June 6 & 7. Activities included the following:

Wendy Olson, our Past President, will continue to review and refine the association's bylaws.

The state conference committee is seeking participants and designing the agenda for the fall conference to be held at the Marriott SeaTac Hotel in Seattle, on November 13, 14 and 15, 2002. We will be adding a one-day drive-in session to include the fiscal sector and "newbies."

Our Ethnic Awareness Scholarships were recently expanded and applications are being collected and will be selected this summer.

Training activities for the association are being developed for the upcoming year, along with a calendar of activities. Henry Olguin will present two, one-day training sessions this summer on "Creativity and Innovation."

We are also looking for a date for the WASFAA/NASFAA training for fall quarter.

Two scholarships for the WASFAA Summer Institute have been awarded.

We will be researching various approaches to maintaining the WFAA website that will allow additional services and ease in updating association information.

The association is currently accepting applications for our new "Rookie of the Year" award. Since our recently deceased colleague, Tim Henning, developed the award process; we will be discussing the possibility of naming the award in his honor.
