Hello Prospective WASFAA Partners:

The Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (WASFAA) is a professional organization of dedicated individuals in the eight state regions occupying the western United States including Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Here are brief descriptions of our partnership choices below:

Sister Dale Brown Summer Institute (SDBSI): Held annually in June, this is week-long training for NEW financial aid professionals or those wanting a refresher course on the Financial Aid A-Z's. Typically those in attendance have less than two years of financial aid experience. The trainers are well versed professionals in our industry often times from managerial positions. The 2010 Sister Dale Brown Summer Institute (SDBSI) will be held in Phoenix, AZ in June.

Training: Each year WASFAA offers training opportunities to its states constituents by providing sessions either in-person or via webinar. Training is typically held each fall and spring. Fall and spring training dates vary and are listed on the WASFAA Calendar.

WASFAA Annual Conference: This major event is in various areas of our beautiful region during the spring. The 2010 Conference will be held April 18-20 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The agenda is filled with sessions of training and discussion on timely issues providing Financial Aid Administrators a wonderful opportunity for learning, problem solving, and networking. It also allows vendor representatives an occasion to display company materials and to meet to discuss timely issues with colleagues and financial aid personnel in a setting away from the day-to-day distractions of the office.

Your taking partnership and advertising is essential to continuing these training opportunities. We ask that you review the links above regarding participation choices and advertising opportunities. Help us maintain our high standard of training and community involvement.

In addition, WASFAA is open to receiving financial support for partnership and advertising without displaying your company name if desires. Please call me to discuss this option.

If you can also think of an advertising opportunity you are interested in but do not see available, please call us as we are open to meeting all of your needs.

We look forward to your involvement. Thank you in advance for your generous participation.

Sincerely,

Colleen MacDonald
2009-10 Fund Development Chair
