Hello WASFAA Partners,

With so many changes to the way we all do business, it is time for some changes and explanations of our system for allowing you to purchase ads and/or assist WASFAA members through your partnership with our organization.

Thousands of WASFAA members have participated in a variety of training opportunities this past year, in good part because of the generous participation of vendors like you.  Our most prominent training activities are briefly described below:

Summer Institute – In June, a week of training for financial aid professionals new to the profession or wanting a refresher course on Financial Aid A-Z.  The 2008 Summer Institute will be held in Reno, Nevada June 8-13.

Management Leadership Institute:  In the fall WASFAA provides a three-day intensive workshop for financial aid professionals interested in learning the finer details of federal regulations and what it takes to become a director.  The 2008 event is scheduled to be held November 22-24.

Fall and Spring Training:  Each year WASFAA takes training opportunities to its constituents by providing sessions in each state. (Those states with larger populations have more than one training opportunity.)  Training is held each fall and spring.

WASFAA Annual Conference:  This major event is in various areas of our beautiful region during the spring.  The 2008 Conference will be held next April 6-8 in Seattle, Washington.  The agenda of training and discussion on timely issues provides Financial Aid Administrators a wonderful opportunity for learning, problem solving, and networking.  It also allows vendor representatives an occasion to display company materials and to meet to discuss timely issues with colleagues and financial aid personnel in a setting away from the day-to-day distractions of the office.

Without your taking part by way of partnership and advertising, these training opportunities would not be possible.  We ask that you review the links above regarding participation choices and advertising opportunities and help us maintain our high standard of training and community involvement.  If there is an advertising opportunity in which you do not wish to have your company name displayed, please call one of us to discuss that.
