There has been a lot of activity in Hawaii. We completed the last of our Parent Night sessions in January. Thanks to a USA Funds grant, PacFAA was able to reach out and provide all four major Hawaiian Islands with Parent Night workshops. We also thank American Savings Bank for assisting us in printing the materials we used. Coming from one of the smallest islands, Kauai, I can tell you that our families really appreciated the information presented by PacFAA. Each presenter was accompanied by an assistant to cover the basics of "how to" and what happens after you apply for financial aid. We hope to include other Pacific Islands in the future. Thanks PacFAA Presenters for doing such a great job!

In partnership with USA Funds, PacFAA members will be participating in our first College Goal Sunday on February 10th. This is a community outreach activity to assist low-income families to understand and to complete the FAFSA. During the event, there will be prizes, tax preparation assistance, scholarships, etc. For more information, visit the following web site: http://www.collegegoalsunday.org/facts.asp. All of these community events could not happen without that one special person taking the lead. Frank Green, Past-President, has been the dynamic force behind many of these community outreach projects. We love you Frank, thanks!

Nominations and elections will be conducted in February. PacFAA’s Executive Council will be voting on amendments to the constitution:

1) Motto and 2) Member Dues. An electronic mailing list service is now available (for members only). PacFAA’s Spring Conference will be on March 10th.
