I, and other WFAA colleagues, would like to thank the WASFAA Conference Committee for a great conference this year. Their excellent planning was very apparent as the conference progressed so smoothly. Sad news greeted me when I returned from Boise after the conference. Tim Henning,WFAA's Vice President for Legislation, had died unexpectedly the Tuesday morning of the conference. Tim was well loved by many and had donated many hours of service to WFAA. Many of us will miss Tim very, very much. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joan Henning, his wife and also a WFAA member, his children and the financial aid staff at Gonzaga University.

WFAA's final event for this fiscal year is the Executive Committee's transition retreat in June. Kate Bligh established this annual event with her presidency and it has proven to be a necessity as we strive to serve WFAA in the best way possible. I look forward to working with many wonderful WFAA leaders during that time.

This will be my final Washington report as president of WFAA. I have enjoyed serving as WFAA president very much and have also enjoyed participating at the regional level on the WASFAA Executive Council. It is a privilege to work with so many wonderful professionals/friends.
