WASFAA Happenings ...
Hot June Nights: The 19th Annual Summer Institute
by Leonard Walker, Summer Institute Basic Track Chair

WASFAA is pleased to present the 19th Annual Summer Institute: Basic Track. The 2002 Institute will be held June 2nd-7th at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The curriculum is geared toward Financial Aid administrators with less than four years of experience or those individuals who want a thorough review of all the basics. The faculty of the institute is made up of 13 practicing financial aid administrators from campuses or organizations throughout the West.

The importance of this training opportunity is best expressed through the words of a WASFAA scholarship applicant:
"[The WASFAA Summer Institute] will be a wonderful opportunity to gain understanding and learn more about the Financial Aid system and the role we [as financial aid administrators] play. Our continued success depends on the quality of Customer Service we deliver and the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the community. Through the summer institute I would have an ability to network with individuals from other regions and have a better understanding of the how's and why's of Financial Aid."
Set aside time on your calendar and money in your budget to enhance the quality of service and level of professionalism demonstrated by your financial aid office and make plans to attend now!
