"How to survive with less" will be the theme in many of our State's institutions during this coming year. |
State Reports... Elections are now official for the Idaho Association. The
following people will be meeting soon to plan the slate of
activities for 2002 - 2003:
"How to survive with less" will be the theme in many of our State's institutions during this coming year. The Idaho legislature has informed the public institutions of a 10% decrease in funding with perhaps another cut of five percent if the economy continues to be weak. On top of those financial difficulties, enrollments are up at all of the schools in the state. This will cause a lot of stress in attempting to perform all the duties associated with more students, with a decreased staff. Our state IASFAA conference is scheduled in beautiful
Sun Valley, Idaho on October 14-16. Our state IASFAA
officer group will be working diligently to encourage as
many participants as possible to attend. It is very important
that we get together at least once a year for fellowship
and training in this fast changing student aid environment.
One of the areas that we will be discussing is the
upcoming re-authorization of Federal Aid programs. |
