The Washington Financial Aid Administrators (WFAA) have had a number of opportunities to volunteer their time or develop their professional skills this winter. During the month of January the WFAA Executive Committee and interested WFAA members went to the state capitol and met with the legislative staff members to discuss financial aid issues in the State of Washington and to learn more about the legislative process. The afternoon ended with a guided tour of our state capitol building. Thanks go to Tim Henning, Vice President for Legislation and John Klacik of the Higher Education Coordinating Board for organizing this event.

Also in January, the Training Committee provided a day of training that focused on team building, goal setting and understanding your colleagues. The speaker, Steve Morgan, filled the day with much humor and was very dynamic so the evaluations for this event were very positive.

Another January event was our third annual Mallenium event. Administrators from the eastern side of our state
