Spring is trying to arrive early in Alaska this year and it would appear that only the snowmobile riders are complaining.

ALASFAA held its Spring Conference March 22, 2001. It was a fun day of training and socializing with friends and co-workers. As part of the day's events, the gavel was passed to Barbara Burnett as she takes over the presidency of ALASFAA for 2001-2002. We also congratulated our scholarship winners; Alexis Daniels at the Alaska Vocational Technical Center will be attending the Summer Institute courtesy of ALASFAA, Johnetta Scott of University of Alaska Anchorage and Janell McIntyre of Charter College are the recipients of the WASFAA Scholarship to the conference in San Jose and Shauna Grant of Charter College is the recipient of the WASFAA scholarship to the Summer Institute in Boise, Idaho.

Unfortunately, the ballots from our recent elections had to be hand carried by armed guard to Florida for recounting so... stay tuned...
