I am pleased to report that PacFAA now has a web site! As financial aid professionals, we wear several hats and I am the web author of this site and 2-3 other sites at my campus. Our Communication Committee will be submitting a proposal to PacFAA's Council to establish our domain name and web servicing options. One proposal will include being hosted by WASFAA's web server. Thanks to Peter Miller, WASFAA Electronic Services, for referring us to ATAC Corporation and Paula R. Gordon.

Summer went by so quickly, I missed the July WASFAA Newsletter deadline. In July we published our own PacFAA Newsletter and to add some variety I made up a song for College Fair sung to the tune of Gilligan's Island. Newsletters and other PacFAA materials will be posted at our web site.

PacFAA's Conference will be held on March 7-8, 2002, in Waikiki! Committee Chair, Ken Souza from Educaid, has this conference planning process down to a science. PacFAA members and a few WASFAA Board members are in for a real treat come next spring.

News from the Pacific? Claire Pruet is retiring this September from Kamehameha Schools, a private scholarship foundation for Native Hawaiian students. She has accepted a position to serve on the Gates Millennium Foundation in Washington, D.C. As one of our original PacFAA Members, Claire's dedication and service to the financial aid profession will never be forgotten. In Hawaii we never say goodbye, we say, "until we meet again."
