Alaska State Update
by ALASFAA President Peter Miller,
University of Alaska - Anchorage
www.alasfaa.uaa.alaska.edu
Our fall conference plans are well under way. It will be held
October 26, 27 and 28th at the Westin Alyeska Prince Hotel
in Girdwood, Alaska. Girdwood is a small town located
approximately 40 miles south of Anchorage. It sits at the
base of Mt. Alyeska offering wonderful alpine skiing in the
winter and excellent hiking in the summer. Additionally,
Mt. Alyeska will host the Special Olympics in March 2001.
This year's conference is shaping up nicely with plans to
include the WASFAA training session on Professional
Judgment, a workshop presented by USA Group and a
Direct Lending session from ED, along with many other special
interest sessions. Looking for an excuse to come to
Alaska? Well, now you have one. To our members in the state
and abroad, we look forward to seeing you again at the
conference!
