PacFAA: Pacific Islands

We have just completed our Spring 2000 Conference titled "Leaping Into The Millenium", that was held February 29th - March 1st at the Dole Cannery Ballrooms in Iwilei. It was a first endeavor for PacFAA to have the conference away from a school campus. It was a success! Many thanks to our presenters who shared the following topics with us: Professional Judgment, Student Eligibility Issues, Distance Education, Ethnic Diversity, Web information, Return of Title IV funds, Federal Update, Customer Service and Challenges of Change. We've had many positive comments!

PacFAA looks forward to being the host state for the WASFAA Advanced Track Summer 2000 Institute in June. We are currently working with the summer institute committee to ensure all participants get a feel of Hawai'i. PacFAA membership can't wait to meet and network with our WASFAA colleagues from the mainland.

We are happy to welcome Frank Green, Travel Institute of the Pacific, as the 2000-2001 PacFAA Presdent. Though we have not yet completed the election for his board, we are eager to introduce him to the association and are looking forward to his tenure. He would like to continue and expand training and High School outreach programs, and increase the active participation of the membership. We look forward to his leadership.
