Congratulations to Randy Brewer, Information Services Director at the Oregon Student Assistance Commission. Randy was given OASFAA's Distinguished Service Award at our February conference. Randy has been generous with his time and computer expertise in the development of OASFAA ON-LINE and in assisting many of the OASFAA Committees.

At its April 3 transition meeting, the OASFAA Executive Council announced the following new Committee Chairs for these 2000--2001 Committees:

A focus of the OASFAA Executive Council this year will be the development of a more creative and comprehensive training program for Oregon's high school counselors.

This spring, Dan Preston and his Committee are hard at work preparing the June session of the Financial Aid 101 training to be held at George Fox University in Newberg. This twice yearly course offers OASFAA members new to the field a chance to dip their professional toes in the often chilly waters of federal regulation, needs analysis and professional judgement. The course is also open to any member needing a refresher.

Finally, congratulations to Tracy Reisinger on her new appointment as Director of Financial Aid at University of Portland.
