Committee Report - WASFAA Conference 2001 Where will you be on April 19, 2001? If you're smart
you'll be at the WASFAA Conference at the Doubletree
Hotel in San Jose, California. The WASFAA 2001
Conference Committee has already been hard at work
planning a fantastic conference for you with opportunities
to learn, to network and to have some fun all at the
same time.
From 1849 to 1951, San Jose became the Golden State's first capital. It is now known as the "Capital of Silicon Valley," for the technological innovations that have been forthcoming, and is one of the fastest growing and most affluent regions of California. In addition to the many "dot.com's" in the San Jose area, there are more than 50 wineries ranging from family-run establishments to large corporations. The area is also recognized for its diverse Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Vietnamese communities. The WASFAA Conference will begin at noon on Saturday, April 19, 2001 and conclude on Monday, April 21. With so many opportunities in the vicinity, you may want to add a few vacation days before or after the conference dates to enjoy the area. Many marvelous events will be incorporated into the conference, but in 2 and 1/2 days, we can't do it all. A wonderful team has come together to plan this conference. We are concentrating on offering a multiplicity of sessions to meet the needs of new financial aid professionals as well as seasoned financial aid professionals. Sessions will be presented on critical administrative functions as well as professional development issues. Now is the time to start planning to attend the best conference opportunity you will have in 2001. Use staff development funds, training budgets, and any other means available to take your whole staff to the WASFAA 2001 Conference in San Jose. Put the WASFAA Conference in your budget. Be a part of it! |
