CASFAA is very busy planning many activities for the summer of 1999. We have scheduled our first Administrators' Institute which will take place in the Montecito area of Santa Barbara from June 24 to 27. We are able to offer this institute to CASFAA members for a total cost of $75 which includes lodging, meals and all necessary materials.

We are also working on our first mini-conferences. These one day workshops will be held throughout the State from June 2 to July 8, from San Diego to Redding. The cost for CASFAA members is $15 and $25 for non-members. This will include all training materials and lunch. There is a full agenda for each mini-conference covering important financial aid issues, aimed at all levels of staff in the financial aid office.

The CASFAA Federal Issues Committee has been busily monitoring the activities at Negotiated Rulemaking. Two members of the committee have attended the hearings in Washington, D.C. and have compiled a massive collection of information. CASFAA has also sent position letters in support of particular sections of the new law.
