WASFAA Scholarship Application

WASFAA is pleased to offer to our membership scholarships. Each scholarship provides a free registration and in some cases travel assistance (recipient must use WASFAA Travel Reimbursement form). Scholarship winners are responsible for current WASFAA membership dues.

Each scholarship recipient is responsible for writing an article for the WASFAA Newsletter (i.e., their experience at the event, benefits of being a WASFAA Scholarship recipient, etc.). The deadline for applying is 60 days prior to the start of the event.

Amount: To be determined
Timeline: Applications open until February 22, 2012
Purpose: To provide access to attend the WASFAA Annual Conference for expanded training opportunities beyond those offered at state conferences.


 CLOSED - Sister Dale Brown Summer Institute Ethnic Diversity
              (EDAC) Scholarships

              June 3 – 8, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA

Amount: To be determined
Timeline: Applications open until April 6
Purpose: To provide access to attend and participate in hands-on Financial Aid 101 training opportunities beyond those at the state conferences.


 CLOSED - Jerry R. Sims Leadership & Management Institute
              November 9-11, 2011 in South Lake Tahoe
Amount: $500 total (award amount may vary)
Timeline: Applications open until September 9, 2011
Purpose: To promote attendance and regional representation of members through out WASFAA’s 8 states for management training opportunities beyond those offered at state conferences.



General Scholarships
 CLOSED - WASFAA Conference

Purpose: To provide access to attend the WASFAA Annual Conference for expanded training opportunities beyond those offered at state conferences.

       Basic Track: 06/03-06/08
       Intermediate Track: 06/06-06/08

Amount: Scholarship may cover some/all expenses related to the training.
Timeline: Applications open until April 13, 2012
Purpose: To provide access to attend and participate in hands-on Financial Aid training opportunities beyond those at the state conferences.
